Three seldom-seen plays by Tom Stoppard made up Readers Theatre Repertory’s November 13-14 offering, “Ration & Passion: 3 by Stoppard.” “Teeth,” “Another Moon Called Earth,” and “A Separate Peace” were the stories, and “Just good fun,” is the reason, said director Mary McDonald-Lewis
In “Teeth,” a patient with a secret surrenders to a dentist with a drill. “Hilarity ensues in classic Stoppard style,” said McDonald-Lewis. “You’ve got to listen through the laughter to keep up with the double entendres!” “Another Moon Called Earth” mixes love, lust and wonder as seen from the penthouse floor. McDonald-Lewis said “A Separate Peace” might be her favorite. “It’s part mystery, part history, and all heart.”
“Some of the folks in the cast are proper Brits,” said McDonald-Lewis. “They’ll keep us on track with the dialect, and I think that’ll really make the music of Stoppard’s smart, sassy language really sing.”
The cast included David Berkson, Drew Garrettson, David Heath, Andrew Hickman, Sadie Medley, Suzanne Owens-Duval, Lucy Paschall, and Robert Projansky
