LOVE, IRISH STYLE
In March, Readers Theatre Repertory’s traditional “Irish” month, the company returns to its staging of forgotten Irish playwright Teresa Deevy. In an evening themed “Irish Women, Irish Men,” Mary McDonald-Lewis directs Going Beyond Alma’s Glory, by Teresa Deevy, and Lady Gregory’s Ingredients, by Kelly Younger
“This is our third year staging Teresa Deevy plays,” says McDonald-Lewis. “We’re determined to revitalize her work, and reputation.” Kelly Younger is a contemporary playwright whose work “is the natural descendant of Deevy,” McDonald-Lewis says, adding “it’s perfect that the modern tale centers on playwright Lady Gregory, whom Deevy must have admired.”
The cast includes Jeremey Catterton, Ted deChatelet, Lalanya Gunn, Lissie Huff, Louanne Moldovan, Chrisse Roccaro, and Micki Selvitella.
