January is all about possibilities, and to mark the tradition RTR staged American Dreams by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Studs Terkel, adaptation by Peter Frisch. Dubbed the author’s “best” by the New York Times Book Review, the work was first published nearly a decade ago.
“And yet,” says director Bob Martin, “it’s as meaningful today–maybe more–as it was ten years back.” Martin was drawn to the extraordinary stories told by ordinary people. “We can hear ourselves speaking when they do, he says. “Their sorrow is ours— and so is their hope.”
Cast included Chandra Curtis, Matt Martin, Jamie Miller, Eric Newsome, and Suzan Zeitlin.
