April Originals

Playwrights of the Pacific Northwest Spring on the Stage
at Readers Theatre Repertory

With Spring comes Readers Theatre Rep’s “April Originals,” a celebration of Pacific Northwest Playwrights. Featured on April 13-14 are Payden Ackerman, Thomas Moran, Gregory Heaton, Barbara Lindsay, Thomas Moran, and Francesca Sanders. The writers come from Alaska, Oregon and Washington.

Directors for the production are Jason A. England, Mary McDonald-Lewis, and Bob Martin. “We’re always so pleased with the submissions we get for our April production,” says McDonald-Lewis. “With plays coming in from the entire region, it’s clear the Northwest has its own voice – and it’s eager to be heard.” The company read about 70 plays, with 6 being chosen.

Those chosen include You Damn Well Can Take It With You by Tom Moran, The Book of Miriam by Tom Moran,  Happy Ending Chapel by Francesca Sanders, The Great Whatever by Barbara Lindsay, The Titans by Gregory Heaton, and Transient by Payden Ackerman

Cast includes David Brown, Wendy Wilcox, Lalayna Gunn, Alan Hakim, Curtis Hanson, Danyelle Tinker, Winston Bischoff, and William Wilson
