Lovers: Winners–A Brian Friel Irish Month at RTR
The month of March is Irish month at Readers Theatre Repertory, and this time we are proud to bring you a classic from the great Brian Friel. Lovers: Winners is classic Friel: tragedy and comedy, melancholy and whimsy, equal parts dark and light, hope and despair.
Star crossed lovers Joe and Mag find their world upended as an unforeseen event propels them into disgrace. Set atop a hillside as the two teenagers revise their school exams, Lovers: Winners dives deep into the longings of the human soul and discovers in the trials of two ordinary teenagers something truly extraordinary.
Lovers: Winners is directed by Bob Martin and includes Hank Cartwright and Suzanne Owens-Duval.
The show starts at 8PM and run about an hour. Admission is $10.00, cash or check only.
Reservations are strongly encouraged, and walk-ins should arrive by 7:30P. All reserved seats will be released to walk-ins at 7:55P sharp. For information and ticket reservations: 971.266.3787, or email@example.com.
A NOTE ABOUT TICKET PRICES
At RTR we’re committed to producing theatre that’s both excellent and affordable. To that end, we have not raised our ticket prices for 16 years. This year, we’ve raised the price to $10 per ticket. While we regret any inconvenience this may cause our patrons, we’re confident that they will understand that such a step is necessary to keep up with the rising costs of production.
Readers Theatre Repertory was founded in 2001 to tell “small stories with big ideas at their heart,” tales that alternately amuse, confront, assuage and inspire. Using one-act plays as the text, the company focuses on intimate human relationships to explore universal themes. Through these stories and through educational outreach and affordable ticket prices, RTR™ is committed to developing, expanding and diversifying Portland’s theatrical audiences. The company’s main stage season is at Blackfish Gallery™ in Portland’s Pearl District.
